Cleaning black bathroom fixtures?

Help!!! We have black bathroom fixtures and they are looking dull and old. The bathtub is some kind of plastic and the sink is porcelain. Do you know of anything that I can use to brighten them up.

  1. if your fixtures are dull, then they may already be ruined. i have a housekeeping business and i train all workers to NEVER use any kind of comet, barkeeps, etc. use pinesol on black porcelain. the tub is probably fiberglass and the finish sounds like it has been ruined by using a srubby. again, use pine sol and a rag. fiberglass is easily scratched. one worker ruined a brand new black porcelain sink by cleaning it with a scrubby and comet. and yes i had to pay to replace it. if a rag just won’t cut it, use one of those plastic bath pouffs (that you use with shower gel). they scrub without scratching.

  2. Bar Keepers Friend. Found where the Comet is . Less then a dollar, works great.

  3. I also have black bathroom fixtures, use spray on oven cleaner. Works like a charm and they will shine like new! Just spray it on, let it sit for 10 minutes, and wipe away with a damp sponge.
