   turn the water supply off first, shoud be two vavles under the faucet somewhere. Then take the handle/s off, this part is unique to each style. you should see the actual working element of the handle/s and if you take that apart you will see the washer you need to replace. replace it with the exact same washer size and style. Sorry I cannot be more specific but I have no idea of whether or not you have two handle style or one handle style. Either way as longe as you close the water supply valve water will not spray ot everywhere

   What kind and brand of faucet is it? I’ll help you out but I need more information.

   My only suggestion is to hire a plumbing contractor before something catastrophic happens. If you go through Angie’s list to find one, you’re more likely to find a reputable one.
