Why do I look pretty in some mirrors but ugly in others?
home decor bathroom
I don’t know what the hell I really look like.
In some mirrors, usually home bathroom mirrors, I look pretty.
In other mirrors, usually when I go to a store or to a public bathroom, I look horrible.
Also, in my iMac’s Photo Booth, I see the "pretty" version of me.
I don’t know whether to believe that I am pretty or ugly.
Which mirror do you think gives me a more accurate depiction of what I really look like?

It’s the type of lighting and the angle. Flourescent lighting in stores is pretty ugly in general. It beams down from above and creates shadows on your face.
Bathroom lighting is usually softer and designed to illuminate your face better which shows the real you (the pretty you).
its probably just the lightingg
its the way your standing towards it or the way its made
it could be lighting
well in public mirrors there dirty so that could be a reason
It can sometimes be the lighting in the room white light picks out your bad points, also a lot of shop mirrors and store bought mirrors have a slight tilt or magnification in them.
most people use trick mirrors in their home bathrooms, I think the public bathroom mirriors are most accurate
The way you are angled and the lighting are all effects of how your appearance can "change". I feel the same way when I am trying to take a picture of myself. I see myself looking better in actuality than when I try to take a picture and its frustrating.
Or….the mirrors could be nicer than others.
your very insecure about yourself and need to be confident in either mirror. Also, beauty is from within.
This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where at his house the girl he is dating looks gorgeous and then he meets her for dinner and she looks like a witch! Hysterical… unless I guess you are having the same problem.
Really, it’s just the lighting. I have the same problem. Usually you have daylight bulbs in your home which is flattering and fluorsecent (the long tubes) in public places like bathrooms and offices and they make EVERYONE look terrible. I look green.
So not to worry, you are probably a cutie and everyone knows it
And after all, you can only measure true beauty from within.
Some are circus mirrors. Also it could be the lighting or what you are wearing.
I think that same thing sometimes! It’s the lighting and the effects of make-up. I do photography and let me tell you, lighting changes everything.
But you also have to remember, people don’t see you the way you see yourself. When you have the confidence beaming out of you, people notice that a lot more as you’re a beautiful person. When you have insecurities, people notice that to as you not being as attractive as you could be.
perhaps you are pretty ugly
Oh my god i feel the same way it happens 2 me as well some mirrors i look really pretty then some other ones kinda ugly.
